 1) Roger Ebert.
2) Guardian.
4) Yahoo! Movies.
5) IMDB.
Film was introduced in the late 19th century. The earliest artistic criticism of film emerged in the early 1900s.
The first paper to serve as a critique of film came out of ‘The Optical Lantern and Cinematograph Journal’,
followed by the Bioscope in 1908.
Film is a relatively new form of art, in comparison to music, literature and painting which have existed since ancient times.
Early writing on film sought to argue that films could also be considered a form of art.
In 1911, Ricciotto Canudo wrote a manifesto proclaiming cinema to be the "Sixth Art" (later "Seventh Art").

For many decades after, film was still being treated with less prestige than longer-established art forms.
By the 1920s, critics were analysing film for its merit and value as more than just entertainment.
The growing popularity of the medium caused major newspapers to start hiring film critics.
In the 1930s, the film industry developed concepts of stardom and celebrity in relation to actors, which led to a rise in obsession with critics as well,
to the point that they were often seen on "red carpet" and at major events with the actors.

It was in the 1940s that new forms of criticism emerged.
Essays analysing films with a distinctive charm and style sought to persuade the reader of the critic's argument.
It was the emergence of these styles that brought film criticism to the mainstream, gaining the attention of many popular magazines; this made film reviews and critiques an eventual staple among most print media.
As the decades passed, the fame for critics grew and gave rise to household names among the craft like James Agee, Andrew Sarris, Pauline Kael and in modern times Roger Ebert and Peter Travers. google review.
Critics generally defend their disagreement with mainstream audiences by stating how the average critic had seen many more movies than the average fan.
And because of their education, they are trained to watch movies through a critical perspective that transcends just mere entertainment.

Why do critics like boring movies?

What is the point of movie critics?
Film critics working for newspapers, magazines, broadcast media, and online publications, mainly review new releases, although also review older films. An important task for these reviews is to inform readers on whether they would want to see the film. One big problem of following movie critics recommendations is if your movie writer comes from the street and your critic comes from Harvard you have a clash of up bringing. Some people like ballet some people like Rock and Roll. How do movie critics rate movies? If the movie in question does stupid or questionable things, it gets points taken away, and if it does things worth lauding, it gets points added. And if it is unmemorable, it stays at 5/10. This kind of rating is a lot less confusing than other critics' because it is objectively fair.

Has any movie gotten 100% on Rotten Tomatoes?

To date, Paddington 2 holds the site's record, with a rating of 100% and 245 positive reviews.

Are film critics still relevant?

Can you trust IMDb ratings?
Online ratings are an indispensable part of how we watch movies. ... Take IMDb, where all one needs to rate a movie out of 10 is a registered account.
There is no way to verify whether voters have watched the film.

In the case of Gatwick Gangsters, they have put the wrong description of the film and they had 15 1 stars when the film was still in filming stage,
this we believe done by sour grapes extras who could not get on the film.
IMDB would not take the 1 star off.
